Chicago Museum Presents MythBusters Exhibit
Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry on March 15 unveils “MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition.” Just like Discovery Channel’s “MythBusters” series, it will reveal the truth behind popular myths using hands-on experiences and live demonstrations. Series co-hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman have been heavily involved throughout the development of the exhibition, which runs through Sept. 3.
Experiments will cover topics such as flight, friction, gravity, speed and combustion, challenging guests with such questions as: Is it true that toasts lands butter-side down, that an airplane won’t be able to take off if it’s on a conveyor belt running in the opposite direction? Will you get less wet if you run rather than walk in the rain? Is a house made of brick less likely to fall victim to wind than one made of sticks? (msichicago.org)
