Student Performance Groups Come to Play in Seattle

This booming West Coast city has plenty to offer student and youth performance groups. The history, culture, adventure and big-city attractions will keep students busy on and off the stage. Seattle has a diverse theatrical, musical and dance scene. Students can attend a performance of the Seattle Opera, Ballet and Symphony, or they can see a play at one of the many theaters in the area. Kirkland Performance Center. This 402-seat theater in nearby Kirkland can accommodate both theater and music groups. It offers a number of educational workshops through the World of Arts program. Students can use the facility for performances at a deeply discounted rental rate with the center’s “Kids At Play” program. Several youth groups have used the theater for concerts, plays and other presentations. The theater does have several professional performances throughout the year, so it is important to make a reservation well in advance.

University District Street Fair: Youth performance and entertainment groups can apply to be a part of this weekend festival in the University District of Seattle. Over 50,000 people attend the fair each May to celebrate the arts, crafts, community, music and food.
